Date of Birth: September 8, 1988
"Mighty Dog" as "Conan" is known in
the St. Louis Police Department K-9 Unit first appeared in Florida during
the OCAR conference held in West Palm Beach, in February 1991. Conan and
his partner, Officer Edward Meyer, were commended for their dedication
and professionalism displayed during the conference. Conan had performed
the mission set out by the United States Army in the utmost professional
manner and was highly commended by all in attendance. The West Palm Beach
County Sheriff's Office commended both Office Meyer and Conan, for having
shown the St. Louis Police Department was truly dedicated.
In 1994 after several trials had been conducted, the German
Shepherd Dog Club of St. Louis, Inc. awarded Conan and Officer Meyer with
the "Outstanding K-9 Services Award" for their accomplishments
in Explosive Device Detection, Evidence Detection, and Suspect Apprehension.
In 1997 Conan and Officer Meyer visited the State of Florida
during our 25th Anniversary White German Shepherd Dog Club International,
Inc.™ National Meeting/Specialty Show held in Daytona Beach, where
a Special Reception was held to honor both of them for their contribution
to the White German Shepherd Dog.
